From Limited Mind and Body to Our True (No) Self

Abstract: This article explores the evolution of universal consciousness through two distinct human forms across different historical periods. We know that, from time to time, the universe manifests in various human embodiments to fulfill specific tasks for the benefit of humanity.  For example, Lord Krishna's timeline dates back to around 5000 BC, followed by the appearance of Jesus Christ approximately 5000 years later. In between, we have another great master, Gautama the Buddha. Krishna's mission involved upholding justice, re-establishing the political order, and looking after the poor, the oppressed, and uprooting the corruption in the Indian subcontinent. His teachings ultimately aimed to lead people to enlightenment and divine incarnation, with his closest disciple being Arjuna.  Subsequently, a more powerful divine being, Gautama Buddha, emerged and revealed the path to Nirvana . Abstract: The previous two articles shed light on to the nature of human consciousness. We learned that the highest state of human consciousness resembles a sort of tapestry woven by the information we accumulated all along! Thus, even the meditative signs we observe during the deep state of Samadhis are, in fact, creations of our own mind. These signs and symbols take on specific forms depending on the information we have stored in our memory and the deep layers of our human brain. The highest state of human consciousness represents sort of a termination layer from which there is nowhere else to go. What we experience at this termination layer serves as a communication from the absolute to the relative. But is that all? Abstract: We have already analyzed the concepts of Self and No-Self in religious and spiritual contexts. The conclusion was, these two were same in spiritual context, despite their different names. However there is a confusion related to "Self Realization", considering the "Self" to be an eternal substance. This is not the case with No-Self concept, as the only possibility in that teaching is change or impermanence. Why these are contradictory points ? Is the "Self" eternal ? Abstract: Most Abrahamic and Indian traditions emphasize realizing the "Self" nature of the individual. On the contrary, Buddhism thrives to realize "No-Self" nature. They seem to be contradictory in their definitions and names. But we learnt that we share the same human body, mind and energy system despite the religious background we come from. Abstract: Part 1 of this article highlighted the scientific facts on the relationship between mind-memory and the past-present-future time frames. We studied that all mental formations, such as perception and imagination, finally boil down to the neurological activities which happen in the brain at the present moment.
