Ancient Spiritual Symbols, Their True Meaning and Mistaken Occult Practices

Abstract: Throughout human history, we have encountered various spiritual practices and associated secret symbols that were intended to convey a deeper and purer spiritual message than their literal meanings suggest. Unfortunately, after the disappearance of true mystics, these messages were deliberately misinterpreted and co-opted for various occult practices and dark magic, often associated with secret societies and religious orders. For several centuries, these misinterpretations or fabricated concepts have instilled fear in the human psyche due to a lack of genuine insights into human consciousness. Even today, we often draw conclusions about these secret societies and link conspiracy theories to their symbols. This post aims to explore these ancient secret symbols more deeply and uncover their true meaning in relation to the supreme enlightenment of all bodhisattvas, from all religious traditions, going beyond their religious backgrounds and creeds.

Secret religious symbols have been used throughout history to convey hidden meanings, preserve sacred knowledge, and foster a sense of identity and belonging within specific religious or spiritual communities. These symbols, often shrouded in mystery, serve as powerful tools for both protection and expression, enabling believers to communicate their faith while keeping their true meaning concealed from those who may seek to oppress or persecute them.

Although these secret religious symbols were adopted by early practitioners of Abrahamic faiths who faced persecution and later used in private circles, their true spiritual significance remained hidden or unknown to the general public. This genuine knowledge was preserved only within a small community of mystics who passed down this vital information from master to disciple, ensuring that the divine knowledge remained intact within these inner circles. As time progressed, some of these small groups evolved into secret societies or political organizations, designed to withstand the pressure and oppression from mainstream religious groups. Let's delve deeper into these symbols and explore their meanings in greater detail...

The use of these symbols allowed individuals to identify each other discreetly or to mark holy spaces without drawing attention. For instance, early Christians, when persecuted by the Roman Empire, would use symbols like the ichthys (a fish) to signify their faith in Christ without drawing suspicion. The ichthys was an acronym, standing for "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior," offering a way to express their religious faith.

Ancient Secret Symbols and Their True Meaning: This post is not intended to provide general information, which can easily be found through readily available online resources or AI tools like ChatGPT. Instead, this post serves a singular purpose: to unveil ancient spiritual mysteries and to assist others in navigating the profound path of the bodhisattvas from both East and West. Most of the information presented here is drawn from meditative insights, lineage teachings and the insights of our lineage head, the divinely incarnated master D. A. Jayasuriya

(1) Holy Trinity and Tree of Life: 3 Bodies of Enlightened Consciousness
Anybody can have any interpretation to anything and they all sound true at the same time! That's the nature of the relative aspect of our minds. Who can reveal the true and exact meaning of these religious terms? Only a divinely incarnated master or a bodhisattva.....

Both Buddhist (or even Hindu) and Abrahamic spiritual traditions intersect their paths at some point. And these trajectories are commonly referred to as Bodhisattva path, which has their own inherent qualities relevant to their traditions, unique to their geographical locations and their universal support. So if an adept emerges from the Abrahmic faith, he/she will encounter various religious symbols represented as the milestones of their progression on the path. At a lower level, there are symbolical representations to the actual phenomenon. At higher levels, a bodhisattva is really embodying these spiritual bodies. You can read about the bodhisattva path in this article

Fig. 3: Tree of Life:- The graphical representation of the holy trinity and the ascension plan.

God/Dharmakaya: The leftmost picture in Fig. 1 represents the 3 bodies or the holy trinity. The concept of "Tree of Life" or its ancient graphical depiction in Fig. 3 further elaborates what these aspects are. The luminous color on top of the Fig. 3 represents the illumination of our mind's true nature, which is essentially "God". There are several levels to this illumination, and the highest level of this illumination is simply called God consciousness in Abrahmic faiths. The corresponding Buddhist term is "Dharmakaya"! If you study both of these religious branches, both terms God consciousness and Dharmakaya have same qualities. They are both inconceivable, incomprehensible to the human mind and therefore human mind cannot grasp what these states are. In these states, one cannot experience their relative mind and one merges with the entire existence and beyond.

Whoever enters this state, can truly pardon the innocents, believers and genuine practitioners. Or even enemies. In Abrahmic faiths, we say that "forgiveness of sins" can only be done by a master of the capacity of Jesus Christ. What does it exactly mean? It means, when this master meditatively enters into the God consciousness, he can wishfully cancel out energetical issues, karmic loads and imprints of the adepts through his energy transmission. Is this only the case with Abrahmic faiths. No !

Gautham Buddha was also a master of the same capacity, but with a different trajectory. In Buddhist Mahayana/Theravada tradition, we say, Buddha enters into the Great Compassion Samadhi (Maha Karuna Samapatti) for the sake of all sentient beings, everyday morning to similarly cancel out negative karmic imprints and energies from the existence. This type of act can only be performed by either a Buddha or a highest level of Bodhisattva. Meeting a guru of that capacity is indeed a blessing, one cannot even imagine!

Holy Spirit/Shambhogakaya: Holy spirit as well as Shambhogakaya states are often depicted in Gold color and there's a good reason for that. Can you imagine why? That is because they are the energy states that vibrate at the highest state of the visible spectrum or even beyond that level. On the other hand, it is related to our crown chakra energy and creates a direct connection to our crown area. Most ancient mystics, Tarot card readers claimed to have received spiritual downloads or messages to their consciousness through the crown chakra. They ascribe it to the holy spirit. On the contrary, the God/Dharmakaya states are neutral. They cannot manifest into lower energy levels. They cannot create or convey without the medium of the Holy Spirit or Shambhogakaya! Although the blueprint of the creation is defined at the God consciousness level, the particle-level activation or the vibration of molecules, or the "creative mechanism" it not possible until it comes to this intermediary (Holy Spirit or Shambhogakaya) level. A Bodhisattva may witness this as a meditative experience. But it's surprising and wonderful to see these exact qualities depicted in an artistic form in Fig. 3. See how the intermediary source (Gold) is creating the physicality, whereas God consciousness (White) holds the blueprint information of creation.

Son/Nirmanakaya: What does a tree represent and what is its purpose? It bares fruits, provides shelter and nurtures the soil without expecting anything in return. Nature takes care of everything. It's already a part of this vast existence. It serves according to a certain timeline, and a schedule. The human soul of godly nature has similar qualities, embodying both of the above divine bodies. However only the "Nirmanakaya" masters who have promised to return for the sake of humanity have the complete realization. They are the perfect masters who represent the divine nature in its entirety. They have no personal agendas as their individual self is completely annihilated. That's why in Abrahamic faiths we say, Jesus Christ is the only savior whereas in Buddhist tradition, we regard this to Gautham Buddha. When it comes to the energetical interpretation, human soul represents the awakened 6 (or 7) chakras in our body. The tree in Fig. 3 represents these lower 7 chakras. One can only become a divinely incarnated master when they have awakened all these 7 chakras in their body! This is the esoteric meaning of the "Tree of Life" and its relation to the "Holy Trinity".

Fig. 4: The holy-trinity at the level of human awakening : This image represents the return of the Nirmanakaya master Jesus Christ in a human vessel. It's similar for Gautham Buddha.

(2) Sefirot: An Alternative Interpretation to the Tree of Life
Sefirot is a concept, an idea originated from Kaballa tradition. It is a nice depiction of our spiritual evolution where the most important ten 10 stages towards our liberation are presented as 10 emanations of our evolved consciousness and energy bodies. The history of Jewish mysticism encompasses various forms of esoteric and spiritual practices aimed at understanding the divine and the hidden aspects of existence. In my opinion, this as a spiritual sign, is supposed to emerge at 7-9th Bodhisattva Bhumis where the adept is initiated into the practice of 4-elements or the mastery over 4-elements. Master Samael Aun Weor who has done a great service for the Esoteric spiritual traditions wrote many books about these 10 stages. I don't want to repeat the same thing here, instead I will try to add my own perspective.

Fig. 5: This becomes visible as a sign/milestone at the 8-10th Bhumi bodhisattva level, typically before the incarnation of the individual or of the Nirmanakaya of the old master. Read it here.

This Sefirot symbol from Jewish mysticism shares many qualities/traits with the roadmap of the 10 Bodhisattva bhumis in Buddhist tradition. Specifically the Mahayana school of Buddhism speaks about our energy bodies from Physical level to the God/Dharmakaya level as outlined in one of our older posts. This teaching about 9 subtle bodies is very unique to Mahayana Buddhism. Some people claim it as a lateral development, yet only Bodhisattvas are aware of their similarity. It's surprising how both of these Eastern and Western traditions find their common roots from a single source. While we are trying to segregate people, cultures and our beliefs based on the made-up societal values and our knowledge, universe is always trying to show us the unity between all these traditions. My understanding and my stance on these energy bodies and evolutionary stages of the enlightenment is given in the following two posts:

Ones energy bodies actually emanate from their Chakras. So if a certain Chakra is activated, there's a possibility that the natural blockages in that energy center conceal the manifestation of its energy body to the outside. So certain rituals and self-less activities related to the qualities of this particular Chakra can help manifest or evince this energy body. Both Buddhist and Abrahmic traditions have techniques/methods or even initiations that help the individual to activate these energy bodies. Sefirot basically explains about these initiations and evolutionary stages which a Bodhisattva undertakes and finally he unites all his energy bodies before the divine incarnation process.

One important aspect, the reader might not be aware about is the structure of the universe. There are many universal gates, portals or concealed rooms (so to speak). The latter is usually referred to as "Vimanas" in Buddhist tradition. Each Vimana is occupied or ruled by a divine entity in the higher planes of existence. Not all of them serve light! Some Vimanas serve both light and darkness. Usually, the Nirmanakaya Bodhisattvas (i.e. Buddha or Christ) emanate from the highest and purest universal realms or Vimanas.

(3) Triquetra: Another Interpretation to the Trinity
The third symbol from Fig. 1 is referred to as Triquetra and the symbol below that is an alternative representation of the same idea. The symbol shown below signifies that all the limbs of Trinity find their common root in God, and God as the supreme universal energy itself manifests as separate limbs. This essentially means that even if we practice, worship or devote ourselves to a certain religious order, sect or party, we are still the squabbling children of "God". You can be a Christian, a Catholic, a Protestant, a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, but still you ascribe everything to the almighty God. This sign as a symbol may appear to you when your 6-7 Chakras are activated. Another such possible symbol is the Tetragrammaton. I can recall appearing it when my 6-7 chakras got activated. It apparently occurred in that way as I was living in Netherlands where the spiritual system is different!

Fig. 6: Tetragrammaton symbol : In my opinion, it is a lower level representation of "Godly" nature.

If you lived in an eastern country, the same would appear to you in a different form. But this vital information comes from universe or mother nature as a natural sign of your evolution. However these signs are not given any importance in Buddhist tradition and they simply belong to the "Names/Forms" category. If you want to know more about possible signs and the milestones, take a look at this video:

(4) A monstrance, aka an Ostensorium
The right-most picture of Fig. 1 represents this symbol. This is a vessel used in Roman Catholic, Anglican, Old Catholic churches for the display on an altar of some object of piety. We often see this is being held by Pope in many of his religious ceremonies. However there is more to this symbol than its artefactual value. For instance when you reach a higher level of realization through the Bodhisattva path, this symbol may appear to you as an esoteric message, when someone is near the experience of Ego death. This is owing to the interwoven nature of the universe where these messages will appear to the adept, with the specific path they follow and its synchronicities. In the artefactual sense, it symbolizes the availability of Grace to that particular event. In our opinion, it reflects the perfection of the "Shambogakaya" energy body of the divinely incarnated master. For instance in Fig. 4, only after the perfection of intermediary energy bodies, the universe can create a dedicated Shambogakaya body for that master (i.e. The golden body of Jesus). If we undertake an independent/unbiased study, we would understand that these symbols, representations remained as external objects to signify the true and unsurpassed enlightenment of our spiritual teachers. There are no state secrets, conspiracy theories or practices of secret societies associated with any of these objects to the best of our knowledge. But such societies might be using these artifacts in their rituals without knowing the underlying message.

(5) Pleroma - The union of three bodies

Fig. 7: Pleroma the spiritual symbol.

Pleroma is derived from the ancient Greek meaning “fullness”. It is a concept from early Christianity, Gnosticism and in a way similar to the concepts that can be found in early Kabbalah. In many occasions, this as a symbol, has been used for many Occult practices in history and is said to have many dark entities bound or attached to it. Or atleast there are beings who are interested in spiritual practitioners who make use of these occult symbols. There was a moment that when I tried to combine my meditative energies/samadhis with this ornament, a dark entity attached to it was disturbed by my trance and the vibratory field. That entity seemed to be a higher astral-level dark being which was not in favor of wearing this as jewel, during my meditative trance. All of my higher Chakras were fully active at that time and my higher vibratory field was apparently unbearable for that being!

A more informative, and a geometrical representation of Pleroma is shown below:

Fig. 8: The geometrical formation of Pleroma symbol (To me, this is too many details though).

Whatever the reason behind this entity attachment, the true meaning of Pleroma has not seemed to have reached out to many people. It truly means the union of all three enlightened bodies (Unknowable Father, Holy Spirit and Son) of the spiritual master. Or in other words, it symbolically represents the supreme and unsurpassed enlightenment of a master like Jesus Christ as exactly depicted in Fig. 4. This universe is essentially about the balance between both light and darkness. My best guess is that, the dark beings or the darkness wants to conceal this vital information from the public, so that the true meaning of all these symbols never reaches the truth seekers.

(6) Pentecost - The subtle meaning of it ?

Fig. 9: Descent of Holy Spirit Over the Practitioners.

There are many interpretations to these type of symbols. The general belief is that, this symbol represents the descent of Holy Spirit over the higher order practitioners, who were Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks [1].However there's more to this belief than what we generally know. People generally think that, the descent of Holy Spirit occurs everywhere despite the nature of spiritual teacher involved in this process. Remember that, the true descent of Holy Spirit only happens in the presence of a truly enlightened master like Jesus Christ. We have already mentioned about the embodiment of 3 spiritual/universal bodies in a divinely incarnated master. Jesus Christ was a master of this order and due to his direct embodiment of truth, the descent of Holy Spirit is certainly possible in his presence. However, there is another hidden meaning behind the term Pentecost. This is the activation of 12th Chakra in our energy system. Only with this Chakra "fully on", the divine incarnation process is possible. Only with the activation of the 12th Chakra, the intermediary (Golden) energy body, as shown in Fig. 4, can manifest to the master!

Fig. 10: 12-Chakra system in the spiritual ascension process.

(7) Curd and Honey - True Discernment?

Fig. 11: Curd and Honey as a metaphorical representation of true discernment

There are many Biblical references to "curd and honey" or even sometimes to the "honeycomb". Well on the surface value, these are just natural food products which we sometimes relate in our daily conversations. This is to signify certain qualities in these products into the matter of interest. For instance, in Isaiah 7:15:

"He will be eating curd and honey when he knows enough to reject the wrong and choose the right".

Well this simply means the discernment ability of a child who was prophesized to be a messiah by prophet Isaiah. There is another reference to curd and honey in a different context. This is about the promised land, described as "a land flowing with milk and honey" (Exodus 3:8). This simply signifies the prosperity of that promised land.

Well we don't need to deliberately add/change anything in these Biblical statements. Or give any new interpretations to them. However, an experienced meditator who follows the bodhisattva path will come to witness these two natural products as meditative visions in two different Samadhi states. These are the indications to their progression on those meditative states. They are at a certain "clear light" level (4th Rupa Jhana / around Ajhna Chakra) and at the Crown chakra activation level respectively. You may notice these symbols if you happen to live in a European region where their spiritual evolutionary system (nature) inherits these names and forms. Surprisingly one cannot truly and easily discern between the "good and evil" without the support of these Samadhi states as they are the direct illumination of God's word !!!

(8) Illuminati - A Secret Society or a Group of Enlightened Beings ?

Fig. 12: Many different interpretations to the concept of Illuminati.

There are many stories and speculations surrounding secret societies such as the Illuminati and Freemasonry. Some individuals even assert that these organizations are essentially Luciferians, aiming to establish a new world order and seize mainstream political power. Others claim that their ultimate goal is to bring Lucifer to life, a theme that has also been explored in various movies. The real question is, do they actually exist? We might want to believe so, as there is a certain appeal to conspiracy theories. We enjoy superficial narratives and often find ourselves captivated by them. Some spiritualists identify themselves as Freemasons, and several highly enlightened gurus have claimed to witness these higher-order ruling bodies and societies.

Additionally, we have the concept of the 'Matrix,' which some refer to as an existential control system. Are these institutions connected to this so-called control system?

In my opinion, we can never fully understand the universe in absolute terms; we can only speculate based on our relative experiences and the limitations of our five senses. Even if you are an experienced meditator, it is not easy to grasp the deepest layers of your mind or the realms beyond your limited human experience. For example, during significant personal challenges, I have encountered symbols and visions related to secret groups and orders like the "KKK" and secret societies such as those associated with "Ballarat". These visions originate from my own accumulated knowledge and the fears that have been ingrained in our psyche over the decades. Some people claim to have seen secret portals from the Vatican that supposedly release demons, and many fascinating narratives have emerged around these stories. But where do these ideas come from? They are often constructed by the deeper layers of our own consciousness. In many occasions, we create them ourselves, while to a handful of practitioners, they may be introduced by certain entities in the universe as illusions. Typically, these tales are not based in reality, as the mind is inherently empty at its core (However one can only claim so, with his full enlightenment!).

Returning to the main topic, what exactly is the Illuminati? Many centuries ago, it was a group of highly enlightened individuals who sought to protect their vital religious practices and information within a tight-knit community of members. They preserved secret mystical knowledge passed down through generations, from master to disciple, in order to maintain its purity and authenticity, as well as to safeguard themselves from religious and political oppression. Fig. 12 is self explanatory.
